The DON Records Officer is in the Department of the Navy Assistant for Administration Directives and Records Management Division (DON/AA DRMD). DON/AA DRMD is responsible for the management of the Secretariat and Navy Records Management Program in accordance with Title 44 U.S.C., 36 C.F.R., OMB Directive M-12-18, OMB Circular A-130, DODD 5015.2, SECNAV Instructions 5210.8D and 5211.5E, OPNAVINST 5210.20, and SECNAV Manuals 5210.1 and 5210.2. The DON Records Officer is dual hatted as the US Navy Records Officer. Mission Statement

DON/AA DRMD provides expert customer service through the:

(1) Management of the Secretariat and Navy Records Management Program in accordance with Title 44 U.S.C., 36 C.F.R., OMB Directive M-12-18, OMB Circular A-130, DODD 5015.2, SECNAV Instructions 5210.8D and 5211.5E, OPNAVINST 5210.20, and SECNAV Manuals 5210.1 and 5210.2.

(2) Development of the Department of the Navy Records Management processes for document and records management systems and tools, representing the Department of the Navy in the development of Records Management policies, processes, and tools for DOD certified solution(s).

(3) Oversight of the execution of the Department of the Navy's Automatic Declassification Review Program in accordance with Executive Order 13526.

(4) Oversight of the execution of the Department of the Navy's Mandatory Declassification Review Program in accordance with Executive Order 13526.

(5) Management of the SECNAV Directives Program for creating SECNAV Instructions and Manuals in accordance with SECNAV Instruction 5215.1.D.

(6) Management of the Secretariat-level Forms and Reports Programs in accordance with SECNAV Instruction 5210.16, and SECNAV Manuals 5213.1. and 5214.1.

(7) Management of the Department of the Navy's legacy Electronic Records Management Solution (ERMS), Total Records and Information Management (TRIM), which is in current compliance with OMB Directive M-12-18 requirements.

(8) Management of the Department of the Navy, Tasking, Records and Consolidated Knowledge Enterprise Repository (DON TRACKER) which is the single, authorized tool for tasking and records management across the DON enterprise and which is in current compliance with OMB Directive M-12-18.

(9) Management of the tools associated with records and information management for compliance with governing instructions.

(10) Coordination and alignment of DON policies and programs with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) as well as the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) through the Federal Records Council and other records associations and venues.
