Applications for DoD Cyber Scholarship Retention Program Due February 25

Applications for the military and civilian retention component of the DoD Cyber Scholarship Program (CySP) 2021-2022 are now due February 25, 2021, and selectees for graduate and community college programs will have tuition, required books, and selected fees funded by the scholarship awards.

The DoD CySP retention program provides professional development opportunities for current employees who support DoD’s critical cyber function in exchange for continued service within the Department. Components may nominate civilian employees and military members to receive full scholarship assistance to pursue an undergraduate (a Bachelor's Degree is only offered if they have completed the JCAC program (Military Only), masters or doctoral program or to participate in an associate's degree program.

For the 2021-2022 scholarships, participating DoD institutions offering master's or doctoral degrees are the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). Additionally, prior graduates of the Joint Cyber Awareness Course are eligible to apply their credits toward cyber degree programs at preapproved National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity. The DoD CySP Community College Program allows DoD employees to apply and attend selected institutions designated as National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education to obtain an Associate's degree.
