DON CIO Launches Website Redesign

Published, August 8, 2012

The Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer deployed the next generation of its website today to better showcase content and provide improved access to the information relied on daily by members of the DON IT community.

The DON CIO website team analyzed user feedback, website metrics and usability studies, and used the results to guide the design, resulting in a cleaner information-centric website. The goal was to highlight the most current and relevant content, as well as provide multiple avenues to users so they can easily find what they are looking for. The redesign also improved the accessibility of content for individuals with disabilities.

The website continues to offer the popular "Ask an Expert" feature, which enables users to directly contact subject matter experts. And there are still several ways to obtain the latest information posted to the DON CIO website:

  • Sign up for email alerts: These announcements are sent to subscribers via email and link to information on the website. To sign up, visit the DON CIO homepage.
  • Subscribe to RSS feeds: RSS feeds bring the news to you. There are a number of feeds to choose from including "All Content." Users may customize their feeds to include a particular content type (policy, news, etc.) and a particular subject (cybersecurity, privacy, etc.). Subscribe at: www.doncio.navy.mil/RSSFeeds.aspx
  • Visit the DON CIO mobile site from your smart phone: www.doncio.navy.mil/mobile

As always, feedback is welcome via the "Contact Us" page, so let us know what you think about the new website.
