No conference fee will be assessed for the DON IT Conference, but registration is required. Advance registration is now closed, but attendees may register on-site at the convention center any day of the conference.

1/19/12 UPDATE: The Under Secretary of the Navy, the Honorable Robert Work, plans to take the opportunity to address the Navy Echelon II and Marine Corps Major Subordinate Command IOs at the DON IT Conference. In order to accommodate his schedule, the Command IO session has been moved to 9:30 - 10:30 am on Thursday, Jan. 26. This is a closed session; attendance is restricted to command IOs or their representatives only. The DON IT Efficiencies/DON IT Way Ahead Discussion will now begin at 10:45 am. This session is open to all conference attendees. An updated descriptive conference schedule may be downloaded below. The schedule is subject to change at any time so please check back for updates.

The DON Chief Information Officer hosts two DON IT conferences each year. This first conference of 2012 is being held at the same time and location as the West Conference sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and United States Naval Institute (USNI). The DON IT Conference will provide a venue to hear information and participate in discussions about the latest DON IT initiatives, policy and guidance. DON IT Conference registration includes entry to West Conference sessions.

To save on printing costs and to ensure attendees have the most up-to-date schedule, program booklets will not be printed in advance for distribution at this conference. The DON CIO will email conference programs to pre-registrants no earlier than Jan. 18, 2012. Conference programs may also be downloaded from this registration site.

On Monday, Jan. 23 the conference sessions will be limited in scope to the knowledge management (KM) track only. The KM track will run from 12 to 4:30 p.m.

From Tuesday, Jan. 24, to Thursday, Jan. 26, the full suite of DON IT conference sessions will run. In addition to various information management/IT/cyber topics and training, conference highlights include the Cyber/IT Workforce Town Hall with DON CIO Terry Halvorsen; a joint service panel to discuss the certification and accreditation process; a DON IT efficiencies session; and a panel session of DON industry partners.

The DON IT Conference is open to all DON, government, military and support contractor personnel. Military participants should wear the uniform of the day for all events. Civilians and contractors should wear appropriate business attire.

Check this site periodically for the agenda and updates to the agenda.

Continuous Learning Credits

Several sessions at the DON IT Conference will offer Continuous Learning Credits (CLC) for your attendance. Participants can request CLC certificates by filling out the session attendance sheet with complete name and email address and checking the column for CLC on the sheet. Certificates will be emailed to requesting parties after the conference. Those sessions offering CLCs are labeled on the conference schedules.

The purpose of the CLC is to provide credit for continuing learning to conference attendees to meet identified continuing learning needs. They also may be used to meet vendor IA certification continuing learning requirements if the credits are accepted.
