Updated DON Digital Signature Policy Released

The Department of the Navy digital signature policy has been updated. It is DON policy to adopt digital signatures as the preferred means of conducting business transactions within the DON.

The use of digital signatures enables authentication of electronic documents and assures both the identity of the sender and the integrity of the document. It also reduces reliance on paper transactions, which improve information security and sharing, allow quicker access to documents, and reduce costs and environmental impact.
