CHIPS Articles: Cyber-Readiness Analytics Capability

Cyber-Readiness Analytics Capability
By DON Innovation - June 29, 2017
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona’s cyber-readiness analytics capability provides the ability for the warfighter to make decisions based on the readiness state of their cyber systems. This capability quantifies the availability and reliability of cyber systems.

This capability quantifies the availability and reliability of cyber systems — core technologies are big data analytics and Stochastic Petri net models. Measuring Mean Time To Security Failure (MTTSF) and Mean Time To Restore (MTTR) allows users to quantify the impact of cyber to system availability. See Figure 1 for an illustration of this capability.
