Navy Innovation Allows Touchscreen Operations from Anywhere on the Ship
By Yolanda R. Arrington, DoD News, Defense Media Activity - June 22, 2017
The Navy is featuring a mobile software package that includes a digital touchscreen image of a ship’s flight deck or hangar bay. The Office of Naval Research (ONR) TechSoultions-sponsored Deployable Ship Integration Multitouch System (DSIMS) enables aircraft handlers to use a laptop or LCD screen to adjust various configurations from anywhere on the ship. DSIMS also lets handlers plan operations before deployment and share that information with other DSIMS users.
