The Department of Defense Chief Information Office is hosting a Global Town Hall Aug. 12 from 1300 to 1430 EST on the Commercial Virtual Remote (CVR) Environment. If you have a CVR account you can attend by clicking on the following link: Global Town Hall link. (Sign-in required.)
The Global Town Hall is open to military, civilians and contractors in the DoD IT professional field. Anyone in DoD who works as an IT professional is encouraged to participate. This event is closed to the media; however, the DoD CIO plans to host an event that will be open to the press at a later date.
Featured speakers include the DoD CIO Dana Deasy, DON CIO Aaron Weis, DISA Director Vice Adm. Nancy Norton, and more.
There will be no in-person attendance for this event. Attendees will only be able to see the presenters and presentation being shown. Attendees will be able to participate from their home computer, smart phone, tablet, etc., by using the Global Town Hall link. The DoD CIO recommends using the Microsoft Edge browser to connect to the event.

A transcript will be available after the event in CVR. The Global Town Hall will also be recorded and will be made available on the DoD CIO website. The agenda will be available prior to the event.
The event will be 508 compliant and closed captioning will be available. After logging into the live event, on the lower right hand side of the screen click on the settings "gear" icon click on "Captions/Subtitles" and then click on "English."
