On Wednesday, April 8, 2020 from 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET, National Institute of Standards and Technology is hosting a virtual event on the updates in Draft NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-53, Revision 5. This 90-minute virtual event will feature opening remarks from Dr. Ron Ross, NIST Fellow, and an overview of the significant updates in the Final Public Draft (FPD) of NIST SP 800-53, Revision 5 by Vicky Yan Pillitteri, Naomi Lefkovitz and Jon Boyens.
The final public draft revision of NIST Special Publication 800-53 presents a proactive and systemic method to developing comprehensive safeguarding measures for all types of computing platforms, including general purpose computing systems, cyber-physical systems, cloud and mobile systems, industrial/process control systems, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, NIST reported in a release.
