FRCSW Celebrates 100 Years of Naval Aviation Maintenance Excellence

NAVAL AIR STATION NORTH ISLAND, CA – Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW), located at Naval Air Station North Island San Diego (NASNI), is the birthplace of Naval Aviation Maintenance. The command will be hosting a 100th year of Naval Aviation Maintenance Excellence event on July 26, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to noon between Buildings 333 and 472 on NASNI.

The two-hour event will feature a band, proclamations from Congressional Districts 49, 50, 52 and 53, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, San Diego County Port Commissioners and the Cities of San Diego, Coronado and Chula Vista. There will also be food for purchase, 100th anniversary items, a car show and diversity team booths.

Speakers include Rear Adm. Mike Zarkowski (Commander Fleet Readiness Centers), Capt. Tony Jaramillo (FRCSW Commanding Officer) as well as political figures from the county and cities of Coronado and Chula Vista.

The event is open to all personnel with access to NASNI.

Media wishing to cover the event should call 619-545-3415 by 8 a.m. July 24 to coordinate access to the base. Public Affairs staff will meet media at the NASNI Main Gate visitor lot at 9 a.m., to be escorted to the event site.
