The Defense Information Systems Agency, working together with the Defense Media Activity, is supporting the worldwide broadcast of Department of Defense Chief Information Officer (CIO) Dana Deasy's Global Town Hall Friday, May 17, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. EST.
“The unique capabilities that DISA provides through the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) backbone, Global Content Delivery Service (GCDS) and Global Video Services (GVS) programs, and enterprise-level expertise in the IT arena leaves the organization uniquely postured to support these types of activities,” said Air Force Col. Chris Autrey, military deputy in the agency’s Infrastructure Directorate. “The CIO office needs to ensure the message being delivered in person at the Headquarters will be able to reach the larger audience around the globe clearly and with no interruptions.”
The CIO’s remarks to DoD information technology personnel will focus on his digital modernization vision; the enterprise cloud strategy; artificial intelligence; command, control, and communications; the cyber landscape; and IT reform.
According to a U.S. Navy release, the Global Town Hall will culminate in a question-and-answer session with all participants.
Joining DoD CIO Dana Deasy will be Vice Adm. Matthew Kohler, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare and Deputy Department of the Navy CIO; U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Lori Reynolds, Deputy Commandant for Information and Deputy DON CIO – U.S. Marine Corps; Vice Adm. Nancy Norton, Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency; and leaders from the Joint Staff, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force and offices of the DoD CIO.
