SAN DIEGO — Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) is delighted to announce Dr. Ardeshir Ratan (Adi) Bulsara has been elected as a Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI).

Bulsara is an internationally recognized expert in the physics of nonlinear dynamical systems, stochastic resonance phenomenon and the physics of noise mediated cooperative phenomena. He has attained the singular recognition as the U.S. Navy's Distinguished Scientist (ST) for nonlinear dynamics, which places him on par with U.S. Navy Senior Executives and Admirals in status.

During his 35-plus year career at SSC Pacific, Bulsara has been a highly prolific researcher and inventor. His track record of scientific achievement spans the spectrum from concept initiation and development, through experimentation, the production of prototype devices, test and evaluation of the technology, and ultimately, the documentation of results typically patented or published in peer reviewed journals or conference proceedings. He has also successfully licensed and transitioned his innovations to industry.

Bulsara has 26 patents issued or pending and he has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, many of which are foundational papers in their respective fields, and several of which have been cited hundreds of times in subsequent research.

NAI Senior Members are active faculty, scientists and administrators from NAI Member Institutions with success in patents, licensing, and commercialization. They have produced technologies that have brought, or aspire to bring, real impact on the welfare of society.

SSC Pacific's mission: To conduct research, development, engineering, and support of integrated command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, cyber, and space systems across all warfighting domains, and to rapidly prototype, conduct test and evaluation, and provide acquisition, installation, and in-service engineering support. www.spawar.navy.mil/pacific
