NRL Historically Black College and University and Minority Institution Program Highlighted in National STEM Report

WASHINGTON - A report , published in December month by the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy and the National Science and Technology Council, recognized the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory’s 25-year long Historically Black College and University and Minority Institution internship program for successfully advancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics education. The HBCU/ MI program offers summer internships to undergraduate students studying in STEM fields, fostering a potential workforce pipeline for the Navy while maintaining educational value for students.

With the current, national push for fostering STEM skills in today’s youth, the HBCU/MI program is one shining example of a positive collaboration between government and academia. For more information about NRL’s HBCU/MI Program, please visit: https://www.nrl.navy.mil/hbcu/.
