DISA grants provisional authorization at data impact level 5 to IBM
By DISA News - April 10, 2018
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Authorizing Official granted a 12-month Department of Defense (DoD) Provisional Authorization (PA) for the International Business Machines (IBM) SmartCloud for Government (SCG). The IBM SCG offers an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for systems hosting Impact Level 5 data.

The IBM SCG is a secure, multi-tenant cloud exclusive for United States government federal agencies. The privacy and security needs of federal agencies are maintained while gaining operational and cost efficiencies via shared infrastructure, commercial off-the-shelf cloud technology, functionality, and monthly subscription pricing.

This represents the first IL5 for the IBM SCG, making their IaaS available to DoD and federal communities.
