DON CIO’s Steve Muck Receives 2018 Federal 100 Award

Steve Muck, the DON CIO's Privacy and Information Sharing Director, was recently named a 2018 Fed 100 Award Winner. Steve was recognized for his outstanding management and oversight of the DON Privacy, FOIA, Records Management and Knowledge Management programs.

For the past two years he has co-chaired a personally identifiable information (PII) Incident Response working group under the umbrella of the Federal Privacy Council, has helped shape Office of Management Budget (OMB) privacy policy, been an active panelist and speaker at Federal privacy symposiums and workshops, written countless articles published in CHIPS magazine, and maintained one of the best privacy websites in the Federal government.

Steve's passion for reducing the use of the SSN across the Department led him to create and implement the most aggressive SSN reduction program in DoD. Steve has been a devoted leader in the privacy community for almost twelve years, and is truly deserving of this recognition.

  • Capt. Damen O. Hofheinz; Branch Head, OPNAV N2N6G5 Cyber Resiliency
Steve and the other winners will be recognized at the Fed 100 Gala held in Washington, DC, on March 22.
