Guess who’s coming to dinner?
Navy Thanksgiving—A Sampling of Holiday Menus through the years
By Naval History and Heritage Command - November 22, 2017
Whether during sea or shore duty, the U.S. Navy has celebrated Thanksgiving since it became an official American holiday. In anticipation of this year’s festivities, NHHC has published selected Navy Thanksgiving menus that span the first half of the 20th century. Although some dishes (“mayonnaise salad” on battleship Arizona in 1917) have not transcended time, roast turkey, baked ham, and pumpkin pie have been the anchors of nearly every Thanksgiving feast. Happy Thanksgiving!

And Happy Thanksgiving from the CHIPS staff.
