Navy/Marine Corps Records Disposition Manual Tool

The Navy/Marine Corps Records Disposition Manual tool allows users to search the SECNAV M-5210.1,"Department of the Navy Records Management Program Records Management Manual" by keyword or Standard Subject Identification Code (SSIC) for a record type, providing a list of all applicable SSICs with their disposition.
Unlike using the keyword search in Adobe Reader, which takes users from one keyword find to the next, users will receive a complete list of all the descriptions and their dispositions. For example: Searching this tool for "training records" provides a listing of all 42 records descriptions containing "training records." With Adobe, users must read the description, click next and read the next description. This tool search saves users time and effort.
There is also a search capability for the applicable Federal Records Center (FRC) to which a unit would send its records. Use the drop-down listing for the state in which the unit resides, and the tool will provide the name, address and phone number for the applicable FRC. Appendix A is available to provide packing and shipping information.
